USUM were the first games in the series I didn't get, and I don't plan on buying any more Pokemon games.
The thing that really drove it home was when I saw the trailer for Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3. Riding Pokemon has been a feature people have been asking for for years and the difference between how Monsters did it and how GF lazily half-assed it is just pathetic.
I'm open to Gen 8 changing my mind, but I don't expect it in the slightest.
