>>21773933Okay, so after tediously going through their Flash cave (there's a ledge you can't see until you bump into it at one point that sends you back to the start; it's not a long cave but it feels long because of the lag), I find the Gym Leader of the town with a scientist.
Apparently my presence is considered to be of "great power," enough that the stone they're looking at explodes into an Unown.
I beat it, the Gym Leader returns to their Gym.
The Gym's gimmick is that I'm invisible. Yeah. I need to find four flowers in the Gym before I turn visible and the Gym Leader will fight me. I can tell exactly where I am thanks to the following Pokémon and the flowers are plain in the open and all the Gym trainers are mandatory anyway, they should've just made it a standard gimmickless Gym.
The leader, Devon, uses Fighting-types, and his sprite is awful; I would've expected something better from something that doesn't have to deal with the limitations of a ROMhack.
Devon has Lv. 10 Machop, Lv. 15 Riolu (big jump), and Lv. 12 Meditite. Beating him I get the Discipline Badge.
I honestly have to ask; are RPG Maker games REALLY the future of Pokémon fangames? Like, really? While I can see they don't have the limitations of the ROM, everything has been laggy and underwhelming presentation-wise. There's not even any fanfare when you do something like meet a trainer's eyes or get a badge.
I'm positive I'm going to stick with ROMhacks after I finish this game. It took me five hours to get a Pokémon to Lv. 15 and get a badge that was in the second town because of the lag and the lack of fast-forward, it's unpleasant to play because of it.
