I'm not sure if it still holds up now, but growing up literally everyone I knew who had an Eelektross would brag about how it had "literally no weakness" and laud over the none eel pilled plebs with their pathetic ground weak electric types. It also helps that he's one of the few pokemon which appeals to people who like gross ugly monster design without looking dopey.
