Gen 5 and 6 were at least built on different implementations of the same design philosophy, no different than Gens 7 and 8 were. The fact remains that there's a shit ton of content and features Gen 6 kept from Gen 5 while Gen 7 removed that and stuff from Gen 6 despite being on the same hardware.
I just want to be able to play the damn game.
