>>41388785I play open world games constantly as they're my favourite genre, and genuinely just love the concept of travel, be it the mundane (Euro Truck Sim 2) to the fantastical (Gravity Rush franchise), I love it in general. The point of my post was that applying that concept to Pokemon while giving you quick access to all these things creates a very different and more satisfying gameplay loop than the series has ever had. And also why I think a large, more geographically varied take that incorporates story locations more would be even better.
Also you could downplay literally every feature in every video game like that if you wanted, don't be a twat. I'm talking about how this currently simple implementation of openness for Pokemon is good direction for the series and should be expanded on, not that it's mindblowing innovation for the open world genre.
