3. There's 7 other gens, Showdown, softcore porn and the anime to talk about.
4. It CAN get better in Gen 9, if the game ends up being ass, or somehow sells like shit. Outside of /vp/, there's still plenty of people unhappy with how things look, and most normalfags are still graphics whores, or will search for their favorite, who may or may not be cut.
5. Fuck hugboxes and circlejerks. If you want absolutely nobody to disagree with you, leave 4chan, make a subreddit or a Discord server and only invite people who literally never complain about anything.
6. We're here forever.
7. Making fun of people who are potentially wasting their money, or just people who are braindead enough to preorder a game that has a marketing campaign centered around NOT telling anyone anything.
My personal reason: I'm just waiting to see the new Pokemon. Even IF the game ends up being 11/10 perfect, the marketing has so thoroughly burned me out that I'm not sure if I'll ever buy it; I already canceled some Pokemon-related Christmas present ideas.
