there is still kanto to do but I'll review it now since kanto is postgame. This is the best kaizo I've ever played and beaten, yes focus sash is annoying but you also get like 3 of them, your mom can buy more for you along with extra choice bands, choice specs, etc. you get a good amount of broken shit, and outside of some legendaries you can get most of the broken pokemon before the e4. the pokedex is a little weird, it's around 250 and it's a mix of gens 1-6. tms are infinite use and you can get some good ones if you explore, same with items. exploring is pretty fun, you can find that one murderer Gacy and some wacky crossovers. The battles aren't completely infuriating outside ones where the team has multiple evasion up mons, or ones that are blocking optional content where their teams are better then average. you can create sweepers though, hell you get clefairy before cherrygrove I think, and you can buy stones at goldenrod. The biggest annoyance that doesn't really let up is you can get jumped a lot. Red overworld pokemon will seek you through walls and other npcs, and for awhile you can't escape them without pokedolls, which are now rare items and cost 7k at celadon. there are 3 rivals, including yourself, that will get you at very annoying moments. the mirror battles are really cool to do, and them being self doubt schizo moments is funny, but fighting your own cheese is a pain in the ass. Also grinding, it's an issue at certain points cause despite a lot of QOL there aren't any audino trainers. There's one trainer in whitney's gym with only a blissy that works for a little bit but it's a struggle. you can rematch almost everyone though so you have to create your own punching bag. Overall this was a lot of fun, I'll try doing kanto, and I'd highly recommend it, 8.5/10.
