It's mostly about how you keep your cards and less about card stock. Double sleeve and store your cards in dry locations (with silica packets if you feel like it.)
If you're looking for unique cards you could look into things like Promo's (many of which are Japanese exclusives). The vending machine cards for example have some extremely unique art. They also are kind of a unique waxy card stock that I feel is some of the more resistant to the elements.
