>>41073846Part of the deal between the companies involved with pokémon sees Game Freak hold the rights to develop the core games exclusively (it's partly why many spin-offs worked so differently to the cores, when acquiring new pokémon in them, they literally COULDN'T use battle/weaken/throw ball as that was a core title trait). Game Freak are going to continue to make Pokémon as long as it continues to sell merch and associated elements alongside the games.
