I read Dew Point by Togetic-anon.
>https://rentry.org/iqr9yI'm kneeling so hard. This was such a great story! Pure kino, as they say.
First of all, it's really cool to see Dewott's viewpoint/mindset, like how he consistently calls Pokemon "monsters" and shows so much disdain for them. It was also neat to see him
transition from calling the Clefable "the monster calling herself Melody" to simply "Melody", or change from saying monster to Pokemon over time. A good technique to show his shifting worldview. You also do a great job making Dewott feel like an intelligent and intimidating fighter, especially with how he's able to either strategize or go with the flow while in battle. And the combat is intense and well detailed.
I want to praise the comedic bits too. There were some really funny lines scattered around the story. Judging by this and your other stories, I think you have a real knack for comedy.
I especially enjoyed getting backstory for Dewott and learning why he's so angry about getting isekai'd, and so desperate to get Toge back. You wrote his backstory well, and the gradual reveal of more info was cool. On the topic of his backstory:
That plot twist was AMAZING. I actually saw it coming too, which makes it better, because it shows that you skillfully provided ample hints and foreshadowing. The actual reveal scene, and the buildup, were absolutely flawless. It felt natural and was really wholesome, and it's also cool how it totally recontextualizes the relationship between Dewott and Toge. I do have to wonder if that was your idea all along or if it was a recent idea. Either way, it's such a cool way to develop their relationship and add more depth to it, and I'm excited to see what happens next between the two of them.(1/2)
