So, I will be honest with you all: Johto is my least favorite region and Gen 2 is my least favorite gen. Never liked it when I was younger, found it quite boring and the roster is the most unmemorable of the entire series, barring a few exceptions.
That being said I'm older now, and I want to give them another go. However I'd prefer to get one of the VC versions of the games since I lost my old gameboy quite a while ago. I'd like to ask, which one of the three johto journeys proves the most satisfying experience in your opinion?
Things I've noticed about Crystal specifically is the odd egg has a huge chance to be hatched shiny, certain pokemon like Snubull are easier to get, Celebi exists as a post game event, and apparently it's just the more polished of the two.
However, my favorite pokemon design wise from these games is and will always be Octillary, who for some forsaken reason was excluded from Crystal. I could make the journey without him but it wouldn't be the same I suppose.
Is there anything I should know before I pick one of them, are they even worth going back too (I really hated them the first time around but I was a kid), or should I just get Crystal and not consider the other two?
