My friend gave up after catching one shiny. She didn't even care to evolve, she shut down the game and we did a "Let's GO!" but without Pokémon GO.
Other than that no kids and normies showed up at the CD spot in my town, only an autist and 3 carfags. Half of them looking like land whales.
