"Burnt out" isn't the word. Gamefreak just caters to a more modern design philosophy now and it's resulted in boring-ass movie games that handhold the player and make everything braindead easy for them. Granted the older games were never exactly hard, but at least they required actual neuron activity to win. But the worst part is that literal retards will lap up everything this company does and perpetually justify their complete lack of effort, so if you're in the minority of people who disagrees with the series' current direction, you might as well either play the older games forever, stick to fan games and difficulty hacks, or just drop out of the fanbase.
At least I don't have to pay a cent to enjoy the new monster designs, though. Maybe this time around they'll even make more than ten good ones.
