The latter is because I got him back during the good old days of Gold and Silver, I caught him in the very beginning as my first catch in a new world.
I kept him in my team for the whole game, and he became an invaluable part of my team.
The former is because I had a cat who raised from being a kitten, I loved her very much and when I wanted to find a Pokemon representation of her, Delcatty just fit for her.
I figure both are good for me, but Delcatty is always going to be that special Pokemon in my heart alongside of Ariados for different reasons.
