>>17879692>I have no idea what VGCs are, or what a bank ban is, or even that there were seasons regarding pokemon battling. The VGCs are various tournaments held throughout the year by TPCi and Nintendo, the most recent being last month's Regional Championships.
The "Bank ban" means that you can't use any non-Kalos bred or caught Pokemon in the VGCs (In other words: if it doesn't have the pentagon, it's not allowed the VGCs).
Another thing I should mention is that you can't use Pokemon that don't appear in the 3 Kalos dexes. But this is only a VGC ban, you're free to use any 'mons that aren't banned by the in-game checks or online checks in non-special Rated or Free/Peer-to-Peer Battles.
The seasons are also a VGC/TCG thing (unless you count the Global Link's Rated Battle season), they're just for keeping track of sanctioned tournaments for a given year (Starting in September and ending in August the following year).
>I'm honestly curious how anybody can find any of this breeding shit fun.Short answer: Because fun is a subjective term, each person's definition of fun is different.
Long answer: Because, after you've spent hours of breeding for the correct IVs and the right egg moves, there's a sense of a job well done and warm feeling in your heart when you finally get the perfect Pokemon.
There's also the fact that it's about the journey, not the end result.
>but now that I know it isn't even possible unless you buy all the games and live in Japan, fuck that.>live in JapanJapan is one of the more xenophobic nations and Japanese companies play favorites, this isn't new.
I'll give you the "buy all the games" bit, but that's easily be fixed by trading.
>Almost no normal people could be that anal about pokemon. You'd be surprised, a lot of VGC competitors (Well, at least the ones I met and talked to at Worlds 2013) aren't fans of Pokegen/Pokesav.
