Turns out they didn't bother putting me us in a ball and that was a manifestation of being unconscious or something. For like five minutes I walked around in a circle hearing muffled voices around me, trying to break free, and then some Legendary (I assume, its name was ?????) goes on a long rant about how we're all allowed our freedom but freedom is worthless if the person isn't living to the fullest and etc., etc., until they say "Song of Life!" and we're conscious again.
We're in some storage container, and a Grunt notices we're unpetrified so he battles us. We beat him, knock a hole in what turns out to be a plane, about ten more Grunts run into the room to get us, and we jump through.
Mmmmchu gazes into his navel about how beautiful the sea is and how fragile life is, then Ho-Oh (yay, more Legendaries) spots us and saves us.
We're told how the Pokémon Hunters were going to sell us, and we're told that the only repayment Ho-Oh wants for saving us is to go on a fetch quest for a Rainbow Wing.
Again, that's the condensed version, the full thing takes like twenty minutes to go through with only one battle in it.
