Does anyone remember a time where people were genuinely excited to have new Pokemon/Pokedex? Like, I know the meta game has become the embodiment of the term power creep, but I'm talking from a world building/biology/lore standpoint. Wouldn't it be boring if everywhere you went you'd see the same frog, fish, turtle or mouse? Isn't variety the spice of life?
