The gym is a regular two-story suburban home like all the others in Orthodox town. The trainers inside include Barry's wife, and his Double Battling grandparents and sons. They're all equipped with first route normals (Rattata, Sentret, Zigzagoon, etc.). After helping the family with their chores and playing hide-and-seek with the kids, the player can use a ladder to get to the roof, which Barry is reshingling.

After telling the player they remind him of (his wife/himself) and how they met through Double Battling, Barry thanks the player for helping around the house and gives them the Helping Hand TM.
>Gym Badge
Barry actually gave the last badge to your rival (who beat him before he got on the roof.) He mails it to your mom, who you will have to go to to retrieve it. After a chat with your mother, you get the Family Badge.
>Reputation
Besides being a Gym Leader, Barry is a practicing actuary and family man. He has a rivalry with Norman, stemming from Barry criticising Norman's parenting decisions.
