You can use low tier pokemon in any higher tier. If you want to use your favourites, go for it

They're just having fun. If you want no restrictions go to the GL, no one is forcing you to play on their servers

Maybe. But they're not there for that, they just enjoy the battling
I don't even play on Smogon, but I don't understand the hate. They do their thing and have fun. If it bothers you, round up some people who want to play by different sets of rules and start your own mini-league. I guarantee you they will not care
