Here is the character that actually did end up becoming champion of the region. He was an Ace Trainer and then later got the advanced classes Water Type Specialist AND Fire Type Specialist. Trainer classes like Martial Artist, Capture Specialist, Ace Trainer, Researcher, Photographer, stuff like works like how Rogue, Wizard, Fighter etc work in D&D for those who don't know. As part of the type specialist classes you're able to shift the type of one pokemon, once, to whatever type you want, which is why this charizard was blue. I don't remember his entire team, but I know it was

Charizard (Fire/Water)

I don't remember his last one sadly. This guy was much more the hero/face of the group, and ended up being more like our stories Goku or whatever, as things went on. Over the duration of the game, there ended up being power gaps between the strengths of our trainers, and this guy was uncontested the best one, which made since since he was always and Ace Trainer and I was a Researcher/Professor.
