>>34507732I know I've been talking about Ming-Ming quite a bit, but I actually do have an extensive amount of background of a different OC of mine, Toplina.
The basis of her was that, about 5 years ago, I wanted to make a character who knew very little about Pokémon as a whole, someone who just had to rely on their instincts and grew with the weird creatures she befriended. She went through a fair number of changes, including the idea that at first, she was for a story where she was basically a female Ash Ketchum, with a rival that's a nod to darker rival characters such as Silver.
Over time, I made her a country bumpkin from Unova, her signature Pokemon being a shiny pet Shinx named Toto, and she names all her Pokemon after food, just because she's not the most original with naming her creatures.
So the tl;dr version of this ramble is that the reason why I write OCs is to paint ideas that come into my head, and explore said ideas.
