I played other rpgs during the gen2-gen3 gap, I took one look the shit in toysr'us stapled on GBA's, said "yeah, fuck no", and bought megaman battlenetwork 1&2 instead.

Also the fact that a different studio could make everything animated with better sprites in mystery dungeon was proof that it was time to quit this series.
GEN3 was dogshit.

monster arena was a side aspect, but put r/b/y to shame.
