I think it's weird how pokemon is far more diverse than digimon despite digimon switching things up with almost every incarnation.
In pokemon a gengar could have any sort of disposition while in digimon the likes of ladydevimon are always evil with the rare exception to the rule.
As for attacks pokemon can run all sorts of sets and spreads and work in a team for synergy while digimon are pretty much locked to one or two attacks at a time.
Pokemon can fulfill several roles such as gardevoir who could be a healer or a scarfed attacker or a mega or clefable who could be offensive, defensive, or just a prick while digimon are just locked on the most part to "destroy" and those that aren't are also locked in those roles like venusmon and marineangemon.
