Tierno just want to have fun, Trevor wants to catch them all, and Shauna doesn't really have a specific one though seems to like trading. That leaves Serena with representing players who enjoy competitive play. I honestly really like the theming of the friend group in gen 6, each rival representing a different play-style, it was just handled poorly.
