That's not even mentioning the plethora of specific hauntings. America's got really interesting history and myth/urban legends, but so much of it is obscured behind the fact that each state is so different and things tend to stay local. Something that the Japanese really wouldn't easily know outside of Bigfoot and maybe Mothman. Shin Megami Tensei actually has a couple of demons that are based on American urban legends.
