>>56278065>>56278635The whole franchise is pretty inconsistent about how sapient Pokemon are, like, they've had Pokemon running their own human-styled restaurants like five times already and it's always with places to sit and tables to eat at with cups to drink from and such, rather than plunking down food on the floor or filling troughs with drinks, but then they're plopping Mr. Mime on the floor and eating out of a dog bowl or something.
Then there's Pokemon that act like they're animals only understanding commands or they're put on leashes, while other Pokemon get their own seats on a plane as they're talked to like a child.
A fun example would be Contests in the anime. Everything bipedal is treated like a straight-up human doing human dances in human clothes, while everything NOT bipedal ends up with a sparkly collar or one (1) flower behind its ear as they kinda just flop around as a backup dancer for something bipedal.
>>56278635Also, unrelated, but it's not rich people with tiny dogs anymore, absolute fuckloads of people these days are skipping kids entirely and having a pet instead that they treat as their "child" to save money (despite often spending loads of money anyway, eating a bazillion vet bills that no insurance can protect against, and getting zero of the tax exemptions that a real kid would bring.)
