Speaking of the beach, only Orzabal has been to a beach before, as he's a Malamar that's travelled throughout the world in search of making his dreams a reality. While Curtonix here wasn't at an ocean beach, he DID end up at the beach at a large lake. It was there, back when he was still a young Elgyem, where he was relentlessly attacked by a group of Pokémon. It was here that Orzabal had rescued him and where the two began their journey together, two years before they encountered Murdoch. They spent this time learning about the true degree of the conflict between the humans and the wild Pokémon that lived within the tundra, and what could happen if either side were to destroy the other.
Curtonix is a naïve, but passionate little alien that wants to unite the two factions, but was all alone with no direction before. With Orzabal's help, he believes that together, they can make the world a better place for everyone. Thus, he will do whatever his "father" tells him to without hesitation and without question.
