Pokemon is the more successful franchise at the cost of endlessly frustrating it's fandom and consistently surging a pissfest over the next annual fakemon that gets the official branding so it can be ok to pretend to like it.
Despite all the shit thrown at Digimon regularly for not having the same design philosophies and a very modest success in the modern day, at least that shit still has fun.
