>>40109397>ygo, rpsReshizard wouldn't have to "play more attackers" it would just have to play the 1 or 2 attackers that are the best vs the one or two relevant resisting attackers. A format shouldn't be every deck including 8-10 tech attackers, that makes every game the same. Also, LOL at using ygo as an example of balance.
>resistance does the exact same thingResistance does the exact opposite. It makes weaker cards fundamentally useless (everything that is resisted) because you don't have a reason to play anything other than the best counter to what your deck has a problem with. How do you not understand the difference in these gameplay problems?
>reshizard (any meta deck) would have to play more attackers that can deal with what it can'tWhy play anything other than the 8-10 best one-off techs that literally every deck will include to beat X resisted card?
>ohko bad, 2hko goodDid you even read the post? Everything relying on 2HKOs at best, AT BEST, forces decks to begin focusing on having an infinite damage caps as soon as any form of relevant consistent healing is printed. Otherwise, everyone will play control/stall decks because playing down resources is retarded if your turn gets erased and removed from play after you attack.
>>40109407Proving my point. When there's one best answer to a problem, everyone will "play differently to deal with it" the same way once its solved. It will only take as long as it takes to publish the winner of the latest major event.
Resistance is the same problem as 200+ health basics. Power creep has to rise up around it so that alternative strategies are present, which muscles out all but the most meta-defining cards.
