She PLAUSIBLY works in the "this person I care about was hurt and I'm crazy enough to make the entire world pay for it" role. She doesn't really have many personal attachments besides Maxie and maybe Brendan/May, since Team Magma is a lot more professional and Maxie and Tabitha are as cuddly and emotion-encouraging as a pair of salt shakers. She works for the position. Matt just... doesn't. He's a fun, larger than life, debatably bi or gay meathead that is really close to Archie and Shelley and very easily forms friendships with others or at least tries to, going off his dynamic with Tabitha in the demo. He doesn't belong in Courtney's role.
