The gimmick was brought back in multiple games and there are statistics that prove people like them. if someone could find them for me i would be so grateful because i can't at the moment. And forcing to commit to one pokemon as your ace who you really like is what makes mega evolution so cool. not only that they introduced megas by carefully selecting pokemon that are many peoples fan favorites and where in the pokemon of the year list aswell. for example. Gengar, charizard, Lucario. You can choose the one you like the most and build a balanced team around it. you literally make no sense. infact i love swampert. he's my ace. heres a balanced team i built around him. Grass/fire/water core. Two walls and some speedy pokemon. Agreat mix of offense and defense with good type coverage and only one or two weaknesses. I swear gamefreak can't win with some of you. Go back to playing Zelda or someshit.
