Did a little bit of searching around.
So; it seems the current trend is the following:
Posting/Creating threads on high traffic boards such as /v/, /pol/ and /b/ is a sure fire way to get infected as the infection rates on those boards are extremely high.
As per how the infection spreads; its up to debate whether or not its because of Replying to Green Posters, or being replied to by Green posters. Immunities exist, but its currently unknown how they are given.
This makes me believe that there is a multiplier calculation that is assigned to your IP that counts towards your "Infection" level. On low boards, I'd imagine the infection multiplier is 0.5x or 0.25x. I assume low infection happens at 10 count, and then extreme levels of infection go up by 25, 50, 100 etc.
If you want to stay safe, do your best not to post on high traffic boards that have high infection levels, and do not reply to Greenposters. You can't really avoid being replied to by greenposters as that is in their nature to respond and reply.
This is essentially 4chan PvP time. Please practice reply distancing and wash your hands.
