>>48133811Mechanically they're really fucking good, genuinely. Field Effects are a neat if blatantly beneficial to the bosses mechanic (not that i personally mind, i like having the odds against me a bit).
And the areas are neat, there's plenty of side quests, more optional encounters than you can shake a stick at, all that good shit.
Obviously the main thing everyone talks about when Reborn and Rejuvenation are brought up is the story. It's indeed shit, but it's shit in the kind of way that's pretty fucking hilarious. Look at it like you'd look at Kingdom Hearts in that it's cringeworthy but funny. Reborn is an utter shitshow through and through but so far Rejuvenation feels like it's building up to the shark being jumped, as I'm only past the fourth Gym Leader.
Also fair warning: Rejuvenation's Intense mode means business. It's genuinely pretty bullshit at times. Like, for example, the second Gym Leader has an entire team of evolved Pokemon including shit like Hariyama, Breloom, Hitmontop, and Lucario as well as a Gym Leader-only signature move with 60 BP and a 100% crit rate at 50% HP, and the field buffs it and turns it into a part-Grass move.
