Was looking for tera shards and I realized, since the pokemon types are alchemical elements and all that, if the shards can change their type that means they're essentially slivers of god.
With all the other kabbalah stuff in the lore, I think this is a 1:1 reference to Frankism
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FrankismI haven't read up on it in years, but I do remember something about them believing that slivers of God were latched to the souls of the world, and that only through extreme sin they could be freed and returned to God through prayer.
They basically believed that God is literally dead, shattered, and they had to repair it, through grotesque orgies and human sacrifices. So basically just normal jews.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carpocrates this is also related
>They believe, he writes, that Jesus was not divine; but because his soul was "steadfast and pure", he "remembered those things which he had witnessed within the sphere of the unbegotten God" (similar to Plato's concept of Anamnesis). Because of this, Jesus was able to free himself from the material powers (what other Gnostics call Archons, the Demiurge, etc.). Carpocratians believed they themselves could transcend the material realm, and therefore were no longer bound by Mosaic law, which was based on the material powers, or by any other morality, which, they held, was mere human opinion. That solidifies the Zygarde theory for me. AZ summoned/created it with the weapon (which is the same thing in Area Zero's lab) , threw it at Paldea, and then it shattered. Eventually the biggest sentient part of it ended up in baguetteland, where it was brought into the world.
FFXIV also used this same thing for Zodiark and the Ascians originally, but then the fujo writer came in and just did dumb cheap tearjerker shit, she didn't understand it.going to bed now
