I do agree that those markings do look a little but like bruises but I like where they are at to.
As I said, this pokemon collects things like gems and gold from the mines and incorporates those onto itself.
So when it evolves it adds gold to itself, making it look like eye-shadow & makeup... Maybe?
I'm also thinking about giving it two different colors when it evolves - either white or gold. This is chosen by the player, as they only evolve when holding onto a Nugget or Pearl.
