I have this Gourgeist fic going, right, and it was started a long time ago. Originally, I intended for it to just be some smut, but looking over it now I'm quite charmed by the casual first-person narration and I want to extend it a bit more than what I had here.
The problem is, though, I feel like at that point adding smut would devalue the rest of the writing. Like an overly-gratuitous, entirely unnecessary sex scene in an otherwise great romance movie, or worse yet, trying to add story to a porn flick. Part of me just wants to get the smut done, and part of me wants to expand the fic and make it all fluffy and nice. But I get this sinking feeling I wouldn't be able to do both and keep the fic of a reasonable quality.
