I'm not getting gen 8 though. I've been more and more disappointed in the newer games as the years go on, and with what I've seen of gen 8, it's clear they won't improve. It's not all about the dex, but that's one huge red flag. Why bother getting invested in the new designs when they'll be euthanized the next gen?
