I feel like the real issue is the pacing
You go from slogging your way to the first gym to breezing trough every gym in a couple of hours, the payoffs are all over the place, Bede doesn't grow, he disappears and gets replaced by a clone, Marnie faces his brother the moment we meet him, there is nothing interesting there.
I have to barely train, constantly switching teams to not get overlevelled.
I am going to defend the shared exp, being able to change team on the fly is fun, but a level cap is needed for the gyms, and the gyms need 6 pokemons, at least the later ones, or it really becomes TOO easy
The stadium is pretty cool, but dynamax just feels retarded and unbalanced, while it's hype to see a pokemon become giant it's just a retardedly strong mechanic that ends every battle with a sweep of the last 3 mons.
I liked the last gym being a double battle gym but I fail to see how a sandstorm team when the ace is not ground or rock was any good as an idea.
It barely feels like an adventure because exploring overlevels you greatly, so you are discouraged to explore and encouraged to skip every route, capturing pokemons also gives exp so you have to avoid that too.
