I mean, you can argue Gyaoon and the elephant became Tyranitar and Donphan, but the former is pretty tenuous, and other than 'same animal' there's nothing that connect the latter two any closer than Crocky/Feraligatr or Honoguma/Teddiursa. I always imagined that at least one had made it through in some kind of recognizable form - like we'd get an early version of Gen 1, and there's just be fucking Quagsire or Steelix or something.
