Provisional updated KANTOOOOOOOOOOOOO regional dex. Thoughts? Too bloated? I wanted to keep in line with the modern games that pack around 300-400 Pokemon in the game but I still don't want the adventure to feel unnatural, so here are the caveats:
>001-286 are all available during the main campaign in the Kanto continent
>221-239 are all Safari zone exclusives, so if they feel off for a Kanto game, that's why, they're supposed to be exotic mons
>274-286 are all firstly encountered in Cerulean Cave after the Elite Four
>287-377 along with Mew are only attainable in the postgame in the Sevii Islands and other subplots
So essentially 286 mons for the main game plus another 100 give or take for the postgame. Sounds good, yeah?
Give me some feedback on mons you feel look out of place for a Kanto game. I have a reason for every mon I chose, but some may not be readily apparent. Also feel free to point out mons you feel could work well thematically with Kanto or the Sevii islands.
Finally, OC Kalarian forms, yes or no? I've made up some lore for certain Pokemon (Zangoose are an invasive species that rival Ekans and Arbok now that Seviper isn't in the region; Xatu break open Durant shells with psychic powers for Staraptor in exchange for protection of their eggs from Sandaconda, etc) so regional forms could help sell the new Pokedex entries; at the same time, they're not necessary for the new lore to work, and it may put off new players.
