>>40488111Ignoring what contrarian says, Gen 5 were ultimately the only games that have pulled off a believable (well, in terms of Pokémon) and engaging story with fleshed out and returning characters , a living region, the only finale that also felt like one and provided functioning gameplay to accompany the plot and the post-game with a neat artstyle. And it forced you to use as little KANTOOOOOOO shillmons as possible, therefore I conclude that the fifth generation was ultimately the most based games ever released by Game Freak.
But with the heavy focus on plot it was a precedent act for what was to come in SM and USUM.>>40490037Retard or bait, probably both.

>>40493350Well, this is now my opinion, but the whole ordeal in SM and USUM felt pretty forced and artificial with the last trial not even having a captain in SM. Additionally, while the defeat of N and Ghetsis were literally the last battles before the credits, SM and USUM would force you through the final boss battle and then you had to fly Mount Lanakila just to through victory road and the league instead. In Gen 5, the plot was just ingrained with the league, while you could make the argument that in Gen 7 the story ended after you defeated Lusamine/Necrozma.
Gen 5 just felt more authentic.
