>>15302590The problem with your counters is they're all comparisons to the newer improved games. Yes Gen I had weaker gameplay but that's because we've played the newer games with improvements we take for granted but when it was new the gameplay was great.
As for the quality of Pokémon that's subjective. I think Kanto has great Pokémon all over the place but admit some don't mix in with newer designs as well as others.
Yes some people are blinded by their nostalgia and refuse to embrace the newer titles but dismissing them the way you are is just as bad.
