Surfing also only spawns mons of a given area, but they are at random level. You can imagine my what when my first encounter on a water route was a lvl100 tentacool that wiped my team. I'm inclined to honor it as a death because things were going south in a hurry as things were. Regardless, I think I need to make edits to my rules to preserve random mon per area, and the ability to even advance past Olivine city.
>allow catching of additional random mons, 1 per each area where mons are only encounter able thru surf or rods
>toggling the damn code off before I go surfing lest lvl100 tentacool decides to rape me again
