Whenever characters in my story see a psychic type, they shrink their psychic signature and then digitize their energy so it can't be grasped telekinetically.
When they see a ghost type, they just recite a prayer, shrink it, and then shoot it as an energy beam and the ghost is immediately banished to the ethereal plane. If they're a dark type and can't pray, they do the same thing but with mean words, a ghost's natural weakness.
