It's a shame the games themselves haven't turned out so great. I love a lot of the new pokemon, probably more than the ones introduced in Gens 6 and 7, and they've got some good basic ideas (imo) in the raid battles and wild area, but it's all just so lacking. Regardless, you don't need to have used a pokemon to really like it imo. You can love it for it's design, typing, etc. and not for how hard it kicks ass ingame/competitive.
