>>50570167It's not a skill-check, it's a patience-check. You can call that a valuable skill if you'd like, and I do, but it's also not very fun. I don't really object to people skipping the tedious part of the challenge run, because it's not even especially hard. I just prefer to give myself the opportunity to fuck up (which I do (a lot)).
Also, not like doing so makes the boss fights any easy. Actually, since you're not farming EVs it probably makes them harder to an extent.
