She first came to Lumiose as a way to prove herself as a trainer by starti g anew with a new team and see how hard it is to train new pokemon from scratch. There's an ongoing trend with her tean member with the theme of adapation and things like that. Her parents are from Lumiose, so it's also fitting to try and prive herself there.
