The PokéDex is called "Pokémon File" in the leak. Since the trainers were added around the time the game became about completing the PokéDex rather than just plot and training (can't source this right now, but it's on an text interview, possibly one translated by GlitterBerri?) we can kinda date at least two of the sources of the leak to a second stage build or source dump (after they designed the first 32 and noone cared about their pitch, before the SGB is released) and another one around the fourth stage of development (190+ monsters already designed, but still crunching through everything else, Nintendo is already interested but money's running out)
