If it's a Gen 9 game, no, forget it, SwoShi will stay how it is and we roll the dice on the next gen
If it's a Let's go Game, forget it, they are effectively walled gardens only compatible with cellphone Go and themselves, nothing else
If it's Gen 8 DP remakes (which seems the most likely at this point) it depends on whether they want to limit compatibility between NuDP and SwoShi for players of both
At that point it comes down to one of 2 things
>All Pokemon are available between both games, and so GF patches the missing Pokemon to both so that trades/battling can be done between both sets of games and act like heroes for doing itOR
>GF says "fuck you, give us money" and does nothing, keeping each game entirely separate and (likely) causing another shitstorm (It'd be the first time that trading within the same console and gen would be prohibited)There's also the lesser option that they update the games with the missing Pokemon models to allow battling only and absolutely no trading, but at that point it'd just be retarded because the work would have already been done (but don't put it past GF to go with this one)
