It has too many design elements (extra spikes for the head spike, flames), an awkward pose and a yellow face. It feels like every element from both Pokemon thrown into one, while the other selects a few from both leaving out those that clash. The original one has a dynamic pose, and a great samurai feeling, although I don't like the long claw on it. Also, it's the same artist.
